This weekend we spend a few moments to remember those that have been in our lives in the past. Take a few moments to think about all those family and friends that have been involved in your life. Smile as you recall both the  good and bad.  Use your time to make something for someone else. A lap quilt for someone in a wheelchair, a small quilt for that cantankerous child, a prayer shawl (knit or quilted) for someone going thru a tough time.  Join Quilters Dream Batting company in the fight against ALS. "Every 90 minutes an American is diagnosed with ALS." Do you know 66% of American Veterans are more likely to get ALS. My goal is to send 20 quilts. Your donation would add to the cause and be greatly appreciated. Specials at the shop for the cause.

Christmas has started to arrive at A Quilt of Many Colors. Winter Wonderland arrived early. The red and white winter is so cheerful and crisp. You can't put off starting those winter projects now. Gather your fabric, thread, notions and tea. Be prepared!  Who knows how soon winter will arrive. Just in are adorable tea cozy patterns that will make wonderful gifts for your secret sister or family and friends. Rishi teas are available.
Marie Bostwick's latest book Apart at the Seams is on the shelf.  New books: Knockout Neutrals, Quilt Lab, and Easy-Cut Quilts are wonderful additions to your library.
Quilt Sampler magazine has 11 wonderful patterns. Check out the wonderful shops you might want to visit while you travel this summer. Evelyn and I have picked out two we hope to get to this summer.
Row by Row shop hop is coming to A Quilt of Many Colors. Try this unique hop.
Check www.rowbyrowexperience.com to see what shops in which states are participating in this shop hop. I accidentally experienced the hop while traveling thru New York. There were 198 shops in New York State at the time.
Travel this summer and stop into the shops and pick up a free pattern. Make a quilt using only 8 of the patterns and you will be eligible for prizes. More info coming.
